PEACE IS: Harmony

A Benefit Concert for Global Peacebuilding

Tuelo Minah and Her Cousins

With sublime artistry and a voice both exquisite and commanding, Tuelo Minah fuses African rhythms with American soul to offer a captivating musical narrative of life growing up in apartheid South Africa. Though she writes and sings primarily in English, Tuelo's songs often feature melodic chants in her native tongue Setswana.

Tuelo has shared the stage with world-class artists, including Paul Simon and Hugh Masakela, and recently recorded vocals for Grammy-winning Angelique Kidjo's last two albums.

Now touring with her own band of musicians — whom she affectionately calls her Cousins — Tuelo's notable recent performances include engagements at the Metropolitan Opera, Queens Museum of Arts, Desmond Tutu Center, and the American Folk Art Museum. Tuelo and Her Cousins will release their first full length album this fall.

Proceeds from this concert benefit international peacebuilding nonprofit Peace Direct, which finds, funds, and promotes the work of 'peace entrepreneurs' who are stopping violence and saving lives in conflict zones worldwide.
